I saw the Butthole surfers first in 1981 in Tucson in a Biker Bar called "Tumbleweeds" and was a fan ever since. I think my fave album has got to be "Hairway to Steven" where Gibby let the brilliance of his vocal talents flow!! FLAWLESS! BUT -- who the fuck can forget "Hurdy Gurdy Man"--- they made it better than Donovan AND J.P. Jones! TOTALLY amazing. Nice now there's a place where I can see other fans....very cool. One story about the show in Tucson -- a drunk biker kept fucking with them when they were unloading and the surfers were just like teenagers, so the second time the biker fucks with them Gibby pushes him as hard as he possibly can against their van and the drunken biker CRASHES into the B.S's van making a big dent---then they rest of the night was ORGASMIC as I watched the new Jimi Hendrix -- (Paul) use the mike stand as his slide!! FUCKING AMAZING!! BLOWN AWAY! THey TOTALLY turned me on to them in a BIG fucking way!! My fave tour was with the naked girl at the I-Beam in SF -- mid 80's -- or maybe late 80's -- too many drugs in those days to keep any years straight.
